Weight Loss with medical and nutrition support
Many people come to us after trying several times on their own, wanting to do it differently this time. Here, you are not doing it alone. It starts with a consultation with Dr. Thuel and continues with nutrition appointments with Shirley Thuel, her sister, who is a nutritionist. If the doctor considers it appropriate, the plan may include medical treatment. Every body responds differently; the support aims to make the change your own and help it last.

- You want to feel good in your daily life and take care of your long-term health.
- You would rather have a doctor assess which path makes sense in your case.
- What it is

What the treatment includes
Four parts of a weight-loss plan with the doctor
Medical consultation
Dr. Thuel reviews your medical history, the medications you take and how your weight has changed over the years.
Lab tests, when needed
If she needs to know more about your health before deciding, she orders lab tests.
Nutrition with Shirley Thuel
Shirley works with you on what you eat day to day: meal times, portions, what you like and what your routine allows.
Medication, only if indicated
When your case allows it, this may be a prescription medication from the peptide group. In other cases, other medications that support the plan. The doctor prescribes them only if, after evaluating you, she considers them appropriate for you.
How the treatment progresses
From the first visit to the nutrition check-ins
Consultation
The doctor asks what you have tried before and reviews your health. She tells you whether this treatment makes sense in your case.
Tests
She orders them if she considers them necessary. With that information, she decides whether medication is an option for you or whether another path is better.
Eating plan
Shirley Thuel builds it with you, aiming for something you can sustain at home and at work (no impossible menus).
Follow-up visits
The doctor and Shirley look at how your body is responding, how you feel and whether you have had any side effects. The plan is adjusted based on that.
Before a weight-loss prescription
What can happen with the medication, and when we do not prescribe it
The doctor goes over each point with you during your consultation, before prescribing any medication. What follows refers to medications in the peptide group; if she prescribes a different one, she explains its own side effects and risks.
What to expect
- Each person responds differently, in timing and in how their body changes. That is why we do not promise you numbers.
- The medication helps. But what you maintain depends on the changes you make to your diet and physical activity.
- If it is stopped without having changed habits, the weight can come back. We tell you this from the start so you can keep it in mind.
Most common discomforts
- Nausea, which is usually more common at the beginning. There may also be vomiting or abdominal pain.
- Bowel changes, such as diarrhea or constipation.
- If diet and physical activity are not taken care of, muscle mass can be lost. The nutrition appointments work to prevent this.
Uncommon, but important
- Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis).
- Gallbladder problems.
- If you have severe abdominal pain that does not go away, seek medical care immediately.
When it is not indicated
- During pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you are planning to become pregnant.
- If you or someone in your family has had medullary thyroid carcinoma (an uncommon type of thyroid cancer) or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2.
- If you have ever had pancreatitis.
- If you have had an eating disorder, the doctor evaluates your case with special care and, when appropriate, refers you to the right professional.
- For minors.
If you are looking for something else
When what bothers you is one area, not your weight
This treatment aims to change habits with medical follow-up. If you are looking for a quick change before a trip or a wedding, the doctor will tell you in your consultation: that is not something we offer here. And if what bothers you is fat in one specific area or skin that has lost firmness, there are other options.
Is this treatment right for you? During the consultation, Dr. Thuel reviews your case and tells you frankly whether it suits you and what it involves. The consultation costs US$100, VAT included, which is applied in full toward your treatment or medical procedure if you confirm it with your payment the same day or within the following seven calendar days. This can be the full payment or a first payment of more than US$100.
Frequently Asked Questions
What people ask us most about losing weight at the clinic
Will I be prescribed a weight loss medication?
Not necessarily. Dr. Thuel prescribes it only if, after evaluating you (and reviewing your lab tests, if she ordered them), she considers it appropriate. If she does not prescribe it, she explains why and what other options you have.
Why do I need nutrition appointments?
Because medication, when prescribed, does not teach you to eat differently. Shirley Thuel, nutritionist, works with you on a plan you can maintain. She also helps you preserve your muscle mass while you lose weight.
How much weight will I lose, and how long will it take?
We do not promise you a number, because every body responds differently depending on its health and habits. What you can know is the timeline: the plan usually lasts at least 6 months, and at around 3 months the doctor reviews with you how it is going. In your case, this may vary.
What happens if I stop the treatment?
If it is stopped without having changed habits, the weight can come back. That is why the nutrition appointments and follow-up visits matter as much as the medication.
What is the investment for this treatment?
It depends on what your plan includes: the consultation, tests if needed, nutrition appointments and medication, if prescribed. At the consultation we tell you the cost of each part.
The consultation costs US$100, VAT included. If you decide to have a medical treatment or procedure, that amount is applied in full toward your treatment or procedure when you formalize it with your payment on the same day as the consultation or within the following seven calendar days. It can be the full payment or a first payment of more than US$100.
Who takes care of me during the treatment?
Dr. Irene Thuel, Physician and Surgeon, Expert in Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery, with more than 17 years in practice, together with Shirley Thuel, nutritionist with professional code CPN 1281-12. The doctor does not prescribe what you do not need.
